Most of a coating job is preparation. Skip any of these and the coating bonds to dirt instead of paint, which is why a cheap coating fails in a year.

Inspect and read the paint
Walk the vehicle, check finish type and existing defects, and confirm which coating suits the paint.

Decontaminate
Alkaline strip wash, hand contact wash in deionized water, iron fallout removal and clay bar to strip everything bonded to the clear coat.

Machine polish
A one-step polish included as standard, to remove light swirls before they are sealed in for a decade.

Panel wipe
Every panel stripped of polishing oils so the coating bonds to bare clear coat, not residue.

Coat and level
Applied panel by panel and levelled by hand in the correct window, then glass, wheels and trim.

Cure, inspect, register
Checked under light for high spots, then your warranty is filed and the install is recorded on your CARFAX.

Straight answers
Will a coating stop scratches?
No, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling. A coating is a hard sacrificial layer — it resists swirl marks from washing, bird droppings, bug acid and water etching. A shopping trolley or a key will still reach your paint.
How long does the job take?
Plan on the vehicle being with us for a full day, sometimes two if the paint needs real correction. It then needs to stay dry while it cures, so we will talk through timing before we book you in.
Do I still have to wash it?
Yes — it gets much easier, not optional. Dirt releases far more readily and you can drop the tunnel wash entirely. Warranties on the longer coatings also depend on keeping up the annual inspection.
Is paint correction included?
A one-step machine polish is included in every package. If the paint has deeper defects, multi-stage correction is quoted separately after the walkaround — we would rather tell you that up front than surprise you on the day.
What is the CARFAX registration?
System X records the coating against your VIN, so it appears on the vehicle's service history. When you sell, the buyer can see the car was professionally protected instead of taking your word for it.
My car is matte — is that a problem?
Not at all, but it needs the right product. Max MF is made for matte and satin finishes and protects without adding gloss. A standard gloss coating on matte paint will permanently change the look, so never let anyone put one on it.
